Paint Booth Pricing
The features and type of airflow pattern in your new paint booth will heavily impact the price you can expect to pay. We can provide some guidelines, but keep in mind that these are only rough estimates – factors like your location, environmental concerns, and installation can have a dramatic impact on your total cost.
Basic open front booths can cost as little as $2,000, more for larger sizes. Enclosed booths are more expensive, running from $4,000 to $10,000, with downdraft booths being the most expensive. Very large booths – for airplane or large machinery coating – can push $15,000 to $20,000.
Air makeup units can effectively double the cost of your booth, adding $5,000 to $10,000 in some cases. Truck painting booths, which are oversized and require extensive filtration, can reach $50,000 or more in some cases.
Other than the electricity cost, the main ongoing cost of operating a spray paint booth is replacing filters, both intake and exhaust. If your booth is used regularly, you can go through hundreds of dollars worth of filters per year. Avoid paying unnecessary markups by choosing a booth that accepts standard-sized filters that you can buy anywhere, instead of proprietary filters available only from the manufacturer.
Used paint booths
You may be able to save money by purchasing a used paint booth, but be careful. Buying a spray booth from an online classified or a want ad is not a wise choice: with no dealer to stand behind the equipment, you'll be completely out of luck if it doesn't get the job done. Dealers who sell used booths provide at least basic warranties. In addition, they'll carefully inspect the units, replace any worn parts or dirty filters, and make sure they still work as designed.
